Celebrating a Special Moment? Consider these Grand Canyon Tours. It's that time of the year when we treat that special someone in our life to celebratory trip. Anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, marriage proposals and promotions are just a few of the occasions that top the list. To help you sort through your options, I've taken a long hard look at what's available out there and believe I have found the ones that more than fitting for the "moment." The first one that jumps to mind is the bottom-landing helicopter tour out of Las Vegas. It departs daily from The Strip and Boulder City, lands at the bottom and comes with a Champagne picnic. Champagne Toast!Frankly, this tour has proven to be a home run for my client/readers looking to impress the significant other in their life. Think about. Sipping a glass of bubbly, eating grapes and cheese and listening to the sound of the Colorado River. There's nothing quite like it. Except one thing: your point of departure (and this applies to all air tours that leave from Las Vegas). If you go Boulder, which is where the "budget" tours take off from, you'll have to cart it over with other strangers for at least 30 minutes in a shuttle van. Not sure about you but that might kill the mood? Or maybe not. To get around this, book a flight that jets off one of the Vegas Strip terminals. Travel time from your "love nest" hotel to the terminal is about 10 minutes (or less) and is usually done via stretch limousine. Think about: you're waiting at the valet with your partner and up pulls a limo. The driver hops out, opens the door and whisks you off. That's an ooh-ahh moment, for both you and the people waiting for their rental cars at valet. LimoNot all tour operators throw in the limo. I do know for a fact that Papillon does. Maverick is supposed to, but it's 50/50 (the company, IMHO, makes up for this with the quality of their flights, customer service and air craft. Or you go into total-control mode and arrange limo service with your hotel's concierge. In addition to the basic bottom-landing tour, I also recommend considering its deluxe cousin, which goes to the bottom, includes a boat ride, and then goes to the top for a walk on the glass bridge and more. This tour is the end-all, be-all trip in my book. However, it takes 6 hours so it's probably more suited to a couple that likes to explore. As I've said before, helicopter tours are the most expensive option (and the sexiest one, too). But if you want to get the job done and you're on a budget, go airplane. These flights do the same thing as the helicopters but at a much lower price point. Of course, there's the fact that 19 people are enjoying the ride over with you. But does it matter? You'll most likely be sitting side by side enjoying the view and sharing sweet nothings. If you do go via plane, I suggest the one that lands at the top of the West Rim and comes with Skywalk passes. My reasoning is there's nothing that brings people closer together than the glass bridge. And make sure to get pictures. If offered a choice of packages, go for the deluxe. You get all the images and from my experience the photogs do an excellent job. I've made many a good memory on the Skywalk this way. Those of you based in Arizona will be heading to the South Rim. In this instance, I'm going to offer this advice: Only go deluxe helicopter, either 30 minute or 50 minute heli. Again, deluxe means you're in the EcoStar, which is the king of helicopters and specially suited for bucket-list moments. If you can do, opt for the 50-minute. This one does the Park the right way. Window SeatsAnother tip: Request a front-seat upgrade on helicopters and a window-seat upgrade on airplane flights. They're not free and they're not guaranteed but if you get them then you've sealed the deal. I've done the front numerous times and it's an absolute thrill. I don't mind the back, either, but I would only do it on an EcoStar where nearly every seat is a good one. Buy Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours HereTravel on!
